I'd say this book is an ideal read for teens but as an adult I do actually read quite a lot of YA (young adult) fiction and I enjoyed this very much. It's an intelligent, involving book with the supernatural stuff backed up by bits of real history - in fact I must do a bit of googling about Thomas Edison now to see where facts end and... Wanted to like this, and the plot was good, but couldn't stand the two main characters. Got tired of hearing how troubled & remarkable Emma was and found Nick to be patronising and kind of taking advantage of Emma (yeah I didn't like her, but still.
