For years I'd heard the the basic story about an island capturing the orginal x-men forcing a new team to form, but I'd never read it. This tome will provide you with that story as well as a new chapter in the tale you probably didn't hear about. It also provides two what if stories that are fun as well as come behind the scenes material.... A great reprint of the original introduction of some of the most iconic non-original X-men (minus two or three). The heaviest negative here is the included retcon, "Deadly Genesis." Juxtaposing the original story with an overly grim-dark revision that felt unnecessary. The other additional stories were OK, but they all seemed to be...
