Helps students think about how we speak and how word choices can impact our communication. "Wordles" are homophones of all kinds- the traditional and the crafty. Use this amusing book to reinforce the concept-- it may not be the best to introduce wordplay of the homophone variety since many are not homophones in the strictest sense. Rosenthal makes a splash yet again and the illustrations are the wonderful, typically exuberant... Wordles are words that sound the same but mean something different. For example I Scream and Ice cream sound nearly identical yet mean vary different things. This picture book is filled with many other Wordles that force the reader to think about how a group of words can be used in an entirely different way.
