This is a classic.I read it when I was a child, then read it again several time over the years.Now that I have a 7 year old girl, I read it to her every night before sleep. Right now we are reading it for the second time. Listening to the unabridged audio in the car. This is one of the books we chose to read over the summer and then watch the movie and compare..krb 5/22/16Rated the book 5 stars and the movie 3 stars. The movie with Shirley Temple started out good but towards the end it was completely different from the book and just not as good. Will... This is such a cute story! I read it in it's original version (old-fashioned German) and that was fun in and of itself :) Makes me want to go visit the Alps like... now!
