Very good noir thriller with plenty of twists and turns that provide good entertainment, though the front cover of the book does give it away a little bit. Better known for its movie version, Sherwood King's If I Die Before I Wake would please fans of crime noir. There's the sap, Laurence Planter, who is cajoled by his boss' business partner to give a fake confession to the cops that he killed the business partner (so that the partner could escape to Tahiti). There's Elsa Bannister, the... not very well-written, but it makes for a good movie!
