I'm doing a reading prompt challenge with my friends and this weeks challenge was to read a zombie novel; however giant bugs were the closest thing my local library had in the YA section haha. Whilst I think this book is suited towards younger readers, it actually did creep me out. I watch The Walking Dead so I feel desensitised towards... So Im scared of leeches, mosis and blood sucking in general. Whilst at Khoa Sok National park we reluctantly prepared for a jungle trek- reluctantly because leeches were said to be common in this part of rainforest, we were not bothered about the marauding elephants, clouded leopards, tigers or various poisonous snakes, just the leeches.This... I put this book down pretty early, I think somewhere around 13% completion, but sometimes you just know when you're not going to enjoy a book. The language was really hard to read. A lot of people complained about the slang in The Maze Runner by James Dashner but this honestly tops all of that slang. At least the characters spoke normal...
