A strange film in which a depressed knight play chess with Death ... It was absolutely astounding, it questions everything about religion, if God really exists, it also highlights religion slowing down the progress of scientific development. I was shocked to the most when the Knight lost the game to distract death and flee with the family back to his castle which is occupied by his wife. Although it... It's depth and breath are matched by little else. I really feel a warming joy in reading the despondency of Norwegian and Swedish literature.
