Hoot was Mr. Hiaasen's children's book debut, and although it appears targeted for the middle-grade children's crowd, I as an adult thoroughly enjoyed it. I must note though that I read this with... The book "Hoot" by Carl Hiaasen was a pretty good book. The plot was okay to be honest. Not the best in my opinion. It plot began pretty well, starting at when Roy attends his new school. That follows chronologically from this point until more things start to unveil in this story. Roy begins to notice a mysterious barefoot boy, running... This book is about the story of a boy, named Roy, trying to stand up for the home of some very small owls. Roy stands up against the building of the new pancake house on the home of these owls.
