I read this years ago and really enjoyed it. Nice style, very vivid and descriptive. Insightful on historic times and political detail. Not as good as the first novel since the most dramatic stuff has already happened, Tamara introduced. I thought the back jacket saying "Julie - the shy beauty who married Igor but longed for his brother" was a mistake, if she pined for anybody... This is the third book and I didn't like it as well as the others, it was good.
