An interesting little book from a man I didn't know much about. I was given this book as a gift a few years ago and I've only just now gotten around to reading it. I only wish I'd read it sooner.As a former art student and aspiring writer, this book offers plenty of motivation. It talks about writing well, and writing about things that... 73 pages of writing and 15 black and white photographs. The first and longest piece is his 1998 inaugural address as poet laureate of San Francisco.
