I received this book as part of the Goodreads first reads giveaway.This is not the usual kind of book I read but I enjoyed it. It took me a while to get over the fact that this was written using bad grammar, which is intentional by the way and I'm in no way criticising the author's style. Once used to it however the story flowed along... This book started strongly in media res and immediately it had a gritty realism reminiscent of Alan Sillitoe and the films of Ken Loach.As the book progresses through the life of Gary the main character who is to say the least a dodgy geezer my willing sense of disbelief came to the fore.I felt that the pace stumbles and gets sketchy.There...
