More About Black Mountain
This has to be my least favorite book in the series. I do realize that a certain amount of narrative has to played out and that not every book in the Arcadian series has to revolve around call signs, complex missions, state of the art weaponry and combat, but this book didn't even seem like it was written by Beck...until the end. There... As a continuation of the Alex Hunter series, this book really holds up and it seems like I could not turn the pages fast enough. I was enthralled from the start and really enjoyed all the history and back story that was going on - though a few times I thought there were to many characters to keep track of and that was a little distracting... Beck's novels definitely follow a formula: Arcadian + fantastic evil creature + group of human antagonists + one beautiful woman who loves Hunter+ lots of action and gore.I still enjoyed it ....it was a little different since Hunter had lost his memory. I'm always amazed at how Beck's writing can put the reader right in the middle of...
