A story of secrets and letting go of the past. It is set in London and Belfast between 1972 and 2011. A lovely though not always easy read. This is Lucy Caldwell's third novel. Aged 32 and from Belfast,hopefully she has a lot more novels to come. Lara grew up in the 1970s, at the height of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, with a surgeon father who divided his time between helping those affected in NI and his home with them in London. After his death she learns that this is not the whole truth. It was not his work that kept him in Northern Ireland for long periods of time but... This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Think I must be in the minority but found this book beyond boring.. More totally pointless. Didn't care for any of the characters, and found it rambling and hoping the ending would be worthy if finishing this book. It wasn't.
