More About The Shade
Turns out the Shade solo is just a little too much Shade. 12 issues with him is like being cornered at a party by the loquacious dork in the fedora and trench coat who wants to talk about fencing and improv comedy. Still, some good art. One of the most satisfying graphic novels I've read in a long time. My experience with the Shade from Justice League Unlimited never really gave me much of a picture of the guy, so imagine my surprise that he is in fact an immortal being. The series manages to work in a few great cameos (Deathstroke and Madam Fatal among them) while... I've always enjoyed the work Robinson has done with Starman and the associated characters - particularly the Shade. This series though, while enjoyable, felt rushed and does't really seem to 'fit" in the Post-Flashpoint New-52 DC Universe.
