This is an excellent book for the 9 to 12 year old range, though I think fantasy readers of all ages will find it an enjoyable read.The author has created a complex and believable world in this story. I particularly like how they have woven the creatures of myth into the real environment of Alberta and British Columbia. As a resident... Really cared about the character and wanted to find out what happened to him. I was encouraged by the perseverance of this young writer to have accomplished so much at a young age. Well done J.! Loved it!! I loved the descriptions of things, they made everything so easy to imagine. When you hear dragon you think fire and danger but these were different and although my kids scare easily I think the magic of these dragons far outweighs any scary nature. This book made me think they could be real and want to explore the area....
