This is a brutal collection. Garth Ennis explores U.S. involvement in Vietnam, Nicaragua, Cuba and more through Nick Fury's recitations into a tape recorder. Fury is trying to take stock of it all, and Ennis's message is one of futility and depression. A powerful series. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, but I'm glad I read it.... Better than average. Liked the concept of Fury getting old with each issue. Being a Max series, this may not be the Nick Fury of Shield and the superhero universe, though he could easily be the Nick Fury of the recent Punisher Max series.
