More About The Land I Lost: Adventures of a Boy in Vietnam
Another book that was hard to put down again. I liked the characters a lot especially the animals characters. It did make me feel sad because people and animals died yet excited and happy because of what the characters did. They had some really interesting ideas for that item. I have to say that this was an interesting book. When I read, I thought about in some ways my dad could really relate to this book. Almost in all Vietnamese stories I read, there would be something dealing with a buffalo. It's just kind of weird. The part when Tank died was preety sad. Also, weren't boys much stronger than girls back... I laughed at the funny and interesting things that happened to this young Vietnamese boy. None of the tragedy of his later life (he is paralyzed from when he was forced to be a soldier) intruded into the stories of his young years. He wrote a biographical story as interesting as if it were made up. Very enjoyable.
