More About Bloody Flies

Bloody Flies is Andrew J Keir's first novel. Intriguing and innovative, it reveals the disturbing and complicated world of Leo and Diana Hunter via a series of compelling short stories, which work equally as well on their own and as part of the whole. After the death of Leo's father, the Hunters make the reluctant decision to leave Warrington... Any sympathy I had for the main character disappeared when I discovered he voluntarily listened to James Blunt. But seriously - it is a pretty bleak take on expat life in Abu Dhabi. Even one of the few upbeat parts of the book, where Leo tells his son about how he met his Mother and swam with a turtle, ends with the turtle's shell being... what an interesting novel, brilliant thought provoking book.
