Joe thought Davey was the one who would make it. Davey had the smarts and he had a golden arm, shooting hoops like nobody's business. Joe's other brother, Paul, had been golden once, painting pictures so beautiful you wanted to crawl into them. Now he didn't have time to paint. All he could do was keep pumping drugs into his arm. But Joe's mother still loved Paul - loved him to the exclusion of everything else, including Joe and Davey. Joe had a plan to hold the family together, and to give Davey the one break he needed. Then something happened that changed all their lives, and took one life away.

I read reading this book quite frequently as a tween and teenager. I LOVED it, but I haven't read it in like a decade or more.I need to read it again to see if I still affects as much as before. This book is not my type at all.It is written pretty well,I guess.I have to read it for class though.I just started it,and I am hoping to be done by Tuesday. This was an inspirational novel. I love the way it focuses on young men and the way they handle their problems . I love the moral, and the title was clever!
