eh. So if I took what I read in this book to heart I would believe that all cops don't give a flying flip about rules or "orders" and just do what they want when they want...and don't actually "solve" anything but just get it handed to them and luckily kill the bad guy...I did like the dogs though. I probably should have started with the first book in this series first, of course. If I had, it probably would have gotten 5 stars. I haven't really done any crime fiction before because it's not really my thing, but Jackson definitely made it interesting. The chapters from the killer's perspective were different and intriguing, and... More like 1.5 stars. Overly convoluted and implausible plot, with way too many easy assumptions and contrived coincidences.
