Can't find much on the history of this book, but I'm 90% sure it was written sometime between the 1960s-80s. The language is off for a Victorian writer and how certain issues are dealt with is really out of keeping with the time. The Panther Publishing edition (the one printed in England) lists the author as Lynn Bell, who wrote a few... meh. weird sexual odyssey of a young Victorian woman.
