The Curse of the Wendigo
A Historical, Fantasy, Paranormal book. There is beauty that soothes like the warm kiss of the spring sun upon the cheek, and then...
While Dr. Warthrop is attempting to disprove that Homo vampiris, the vampire, could exist, his former fiancée asks him to rescue her husband, who has been captured by a Wendigo—a creature that starves even as it gorges itself on human flesh. Although Dr. Warthrop considers the Wendigo to be fictitious, he relents and performs the rescue—and then sees the man transform into a Wendigo. Can the doctor and Will Henry hunt down the ultimate predator, who, like the legendary vampire, is neither living nor dead, and whose hunger for human flesh is never satisfied? This second book in The Monstrumologist series explores the line between myth and reality, love and hate, genius and madness.

More About The Curse of the Wendigo
Let us go then, you and I, like Alice down the rabbit hole, to a time when there still were dark places in the world, and there were men who dared to delve into them.An old man, I am a boy again. And dead, the monstrumologist lives. Rick Yancey, The Curse of the Wendigo // We have gone far in our public places to push death aside, to consign it to a dusty corner, but in the wilderness it is ever present. It is the lover who makes life. The sensuous, entwined limbs of of predator and prey, the orgasmic death cry, the final spasmodic rush of blood, and even the soundless insemination of the earth by the fallen tree and crumbling leaf; these are the caresses of life's beloved, the indispensable other. Rick Yancey, The Curse of the Wendigo // Love has a way of making us stupid, Will Henry. It blinds us to certain blatant realities, in this case the spectacularly high mortality rate among monstrumologists. Rarely do we live past forty - my father and von Helrung being the exceptions. Rick Yancey, The Curse of the Wendigo //
Original post at One More PageI only really read The Monstrumologist last month because I got into this agreement with Aaron and Tricia that I will read the second book with them. What is it with me scaring myself silly all of a sudden, yes? I don't know, either. If it were up to me, I would probably wait another year to read the next... I actually finished this book a few months ago, but I've had to force myself to take a break from Goodreads [sad face]. This fall has been crazy, in the best way, and I found myself using most of my spare time just reading reviews of books I want...ya know...instead of actually reading books. Anyhoo. This book. The second book in The... Everyone. Everyone, everyone, everyone...
